Katie is a News Assignment Editor at CBS Austin, where they help drive the newsroom’s coverage by coordinating breaking news, crafting compelling stories, and keeping a pulse on what’s happening across Central Texas. They hold a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and Media Studies and a Master of Arts in Mass Communication from Texas State University. Their master’s thesis explored political influencers in presidential campaigns through a case study of the “Brat Summer” trend on TikTok, examining how internet aesthetics and music intersect with Gen Z political engagement.
